Frequently Asked Questions:

Q. Who is Christianity Explored for?

A. Christianity Explored is for anyone who wants to investigate Christianity informally with a group of other people. Whether you have previous experience of Church, Christians and the Bible, or none at all, this course is for you. Everyone is welcome - from the most regular churchgoer to the convinced atheist. Tell us as little or as much about yourself as you feel comfortable.

Q. What goes on?

A. A meal is provided at the start of the evening (7pm), so don't worry if you have to come straight from work. The course is normally run in several groups of six to nine people, and after briefly discussing the course material from the week before, there is a talk or DVD on the theme for that week. Then the groups discuss any questions that have arisen, and the evening ends at about 9pm. Of course, if you'd like, you're welcome to stick around a bit longer to discuss any further issues you might have. And you can ask any question you want, at any time during the course.

Q. How long does the course last?

A. The course runs for 10 weeks, including a day away, when you can explore other areas such as the Bible, the Holy Spirit, prayer and the church.

Q. Can I pull out if I want to?

A. Of course you can.

Q. How much does the course cost?

A. Nothing - but there will be a box if you want to discreetly contribute toward the food provided.

Q. Do I have to bring anything?

No, all course materials are provided..

Q. Is it ‘churchy’?

A. We hope not. It's not a church service. There's no praying, singing, or clapping, and you won't be asked to read aloud.

Q. Do I have to speak in the group?

A. Not if you don't want to. You are welcome to come and just sit and listen.

Q. Why is the course run?

A. We count it a real privilege to explain the truth and relevance of the Christian message. We don't have all the answers but believe that we have exciting news to share about Jesus Christ.

See you at the party!

Both SMACC 1 and 2 had a wonderful time at last week's Community Lunch/Dinner. It was a very happy occasion indeed, not least because of the lamb (SMACC 1) and butter fish (SMACC 2)! SMACC 2 even had gingerbread slabs with their names iced on it for dessert and had a merry time looking for the cookie that 'belonged' to them!

We are really looking forward to our Christmas Guest Night dinner this Saturday at Holiday Villa. Please pray that things will run smoothly, people will have fun, food will be well-cooked and most importantly, people will be touched by the real message of Christmas. It's not too late to book a seat (call Anita - you can find her number behind the weekly bulletins). We praise God that numbers for the night are looking good and everyone of you should be given a round of applause and a clap on the back.

On the 13th (same day) a few people will be visiting the Cheshire Home in Selayang for an afternoon Christmas party. Among talents needed are guitar players and singers. Please call Shanti George or Andrew Cheah if you're interested.
