Ampang Church Plant

We have created a new blog for our Ampang church plant which has been officially been named the Ascended Christ Anglican (ACA) church. Previously it was simply known to us as SMACC 3.

As we are in partnership with one another to promote and proclaim the Gospel of Christ, do visit the "ACA Church Yard" to find out about up coming events as well as to support and encourage our brothers and sisters in Christ as they follow His lead in bringing His word to the area.

For the moment they have yet to establish a permanent venue to meet together and are currently holding their services in a member's home. Resources are often limited so if you have the time or effort to spare, please consider serving our brothers and sisters at ACA. Please click here for a map and brochure from their website.

KVBC week

KVBC week proved to be a fulfilling and packed week of faithful teaching.

The week kicked off with Dr. Christopher Ash preaching on Sunday in SMACC 2 on, "How to Overcome Evil," the answer being, we overcome evil with good and NOT with evil (although we can all testify that often we sorely want to do so!). The sermon download can be obtained from our official website here.

From Monday - Wednesday, we enjoyed nightly expository preaching from the book of Job at the MAS Academy in Kelana Jaya, tackling the issue of suffering in 3 parts;

Weep with those who weep;
Is God for me or against me?;
and
The God who is God.

Christopher's wife, Carolyn , meanwhile, held 2 seminars for women on Tuesday in the Multi-Purpose Hall at St Mary's;

Being God's Women in His World; and
Life as we know it and the Grace of God

Many thanks to Rubina for these photos.

Thus ends our KVBC week.

Photos!

Many apologies for there not being any photos of SMACC 1's luncheon up. I couldn't find a camera :( but I will bear that in mind and bring a spare for the future.

Community Dinner (SMACC 2)

Someone was hungry...

Birthday girl Sharon had her cake and got to eat it as well!

For those who are interested, SMACC 1 was served fried chicken, cauliflower mix, fried rice, scrambled egg with onion and sweet and sour chicken.

SMACC 2 had boiled rice, masala chicken, sweet chilli fish, tofu (yum!!!) and brocolli mix.

Am I the only one who thinks the orange juice is smashing?

To be honest, I wanted to have some of the fried chicken at SMACC 1 but thought that since I was going to SMACC 2 as well, I could get my chicken later. Wrong! Moral of the story; eat now, worry later.

Many thanks to Heidi for her camera phone that caught a few moments for us.

Let us keep on keeping on together in faith, food and fellowship (the 3 Fs).

Updates on Community Lunch/Dinner

Dr. Christopher Ash, this year's Klang Valley Bible Conference (KVBC) speaker will be preaching at SMACC 2 on 12 October 2008.

We encourage everyone to come hear him preach and understand that this may prove to be a long day for those of you who go to earlier SMACCs should Community Lunch/Dinner be held on the same day.

As such, Community Lunch/ Dinner will be brought forward to this weekend, 5 October 2008.

We hope that you will be able to stay back after church this Sunday to fellowship with one another and to share a meal together. See you there!
